1. How long before my project is complete?
Each project is unique. The timeline is dependent upon the amount, type, and format of copy I am supplied with, and the depth of the project requirements. For example: personal web sites can be completed within 7-10 days, with small business web sites having a 30-60 day development period where as larger corporate web sites can extend beyond 90 days. Most print media projects are completed within a 14-day period—excluding booklets and manuals.
For any project, after I complete an analysis of your requirements I will assign a timeline outlining how your project will proceed. This allows you and the company you are working with, if that is not me directly, to follow the process and keeps you informed as to the level of completion of your project.
The timeline is affected by the editing process if there are changes to the layout throughout the design phase.
2. How often can I update my pages?
Your pages can be updated as often as you like. Most people update their pages with the seasons; or once new products or new pieces of work become available.
There are two main forms of hosting: managed and independent.
· Managed hosting means I, or the company you are working with, do all your updates and changes.
· Independent hosting means you can do your own updates and changes, for when you want to be more hands on.
3. What are the average costs for web sites?
The median cost of a small business web site is $4,000. Though I have created sites for as little as $1,000 and as much as $23,000. Cost is dependant upon various factors. Final costs are subject to change throughout the project all changes must be signed off for by both the client and myself.
4. How long is my commitment with you?
Your commitment to me begins with signing the contract for services, which is drawn up following the initial consultation by either myself or the company you are working with, and ends upon completion of the contract as per the contract terms. That commitment may be as short as a week or longer than a year.
This contract is binding. You have a commitment to pay $1,000 or 50% (whichever is more) of the estimated total cost of the services requested upon signing of this contract, and the remaining amount on account of the actual total cost (including changes if made) upon completion of the project and/or delivery of product.
5. Do I need to sign a contract to use your services?
Yes. A contract is drafted following the consultation stating, among the legal outlines, the project goals, the specifics (i.e. for web sites: number of pages, cost of pages, etc.), the expected timeline and the estimated final cost.
This contract may be amended throughout the project development due to unpredictable alterations of the project goals. Should a change occur that affects the final cost the project will not proceed without explicit consent from the client. All other changes do not require contract amendments.
This contract protects everyone should anything in the project or in our personal status change.
